Our chefs and nutrition consultants are dedicated not only to the analyses of foods but also to the art of cooking, as we believe the joy of life and the creation of beautiful things are both essential to good meals.

We think cooking is about the gratification of sharing and nourishing, the delight of feasting, and the pleasure of taste. It is about ageless recipes that have been created by people living in harmony with the products and the natural laws of their lands—dishes that smell, taste, and look like human food, not a mixture of abstract "nutrients."

For every recipe offered here we present an analysis of ingredients in terms of their energies, their relation to seasons, to weather, to specific organs, their therapeutic qualities, and contraindications for certain conditions or certain people, all as discovered and systematized by ancient doctors. This month we present Yang energy dishes, with ingredients used for infertility, impotence, and weight loss.

Please, read the article Ancient Chinese Recipes to help you understand the terminology.

Featuring this month:
Simple foods that help you stay slim.
